Terms of Service

These are the terms for using MealsList, run by Meals List, a sole proprietorship based in Utah, United States. Using the app means you accept them.
What you get
A shared grocery list for one household, with a price column for up to eight stores you name yourself, running totals at each store, a meal planner, and an export of everything you have entered.
Everyone in your household shares one subscription and one list, and each person has their own login.
The free trial
New households get 30 days free. No card is required, so there is nothing to cancel if you decide against it. The trial is the full app, not a reduced version.
Paying
$69 per year for the whole household. Payment is handled by PayPal and renews automatically each year unless cancelled.
If you subscribe before your trial has run out, the year is added to the time you already had rather than replacing it. You do not lose anything by paying early.
Cancelling
Cancel any time from your own PayPal account, under recurring payments. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Refunds
If you want a refund within 30 days of a charge, ask and you will get it in full. After 30 days we do not refund that year, though you can still cancel to stop the next one.
The free trial exists so you can decide before paying anything, which is why the refund window is not longer.
If you stop paying
The app becomes read-only. You are not locked out, and nothing is deleted. Your list, your stores and your prices stay where they are, you can still look at them and export them, and subscribing again picks up where you left off.
Prices are yours, not ours
Every price in MealsList is one that you or someone in your household typed in or imported. We do not supply prices, check them, or guarantee them. A total is only as accurate as what has been entered, and shelf prices change without warning.
Treat the cheapest-store answer as a well-informed guess based on your own numbers, not as a promise about what you will pay at the till.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself, and use a real email address you can receive at, since it is the only way to reset a password or reach you about your subscription.
A household holds up to four people, each with their own login. Anyone in it can see and change everything in it, and can remove anyone else. Add people you trust.
Fair use
Do not attempt to break into other households, overload the service, resell access, or use MealsList for anything illegal. We can suspend an account that does. If we ever suspend yours, you can still ask for an export of your data.
What we do not promise
MealsList is provided as it is. We work to keep it running and backed up, but we cannot promise it will never be down, never lose anything, or always be free of faults.
To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the previous twelve months. We are not liable for indirect losses, and specifically not for money you spent at a shop based on a price in the app.
Some places do not allow limits like these. Where that is the case, they apply as far as they legally can and no further, and nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and for anything significant we will email account holders rather than quietly editing the page. If a change does not suit you, cancel and ask for a refund under the terms above.
Ending it
You can stop using MealsList whenever you like. Export your data first if you want it.
To remove your household entirely, use Close this household on the Account page. Everything is held for 30 days before being permanently deleted, so a change of mind is recoverable within that window.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States.
